The City of Cartagena has established for the upcoming holidays of Carthaginians and Romans, from September 21 to 30, a security device with 170 Local Police officers and this year incorporates some new features, such as the creation of a violet point of attention to victims of sexual or sexist aggressions.
This was announced by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, after the meeting of the Local Security Board that was held on Tuesday, September 11, in the Hall of Councilors of the Consistorial Palace.
A meeting that the mayor has co-chaired with the government delegate, Diego Conesa, to coordinate the police and security during the holidays.
For it they were the councilman of Citizen Security, Francisco Aznar;
representatives of the commands of the National Police, Civil Guard, Local Police, Fire and Civil Protection;
as well as the councilman of Public Services and Celebrations, Juan Pedro Torralba, and representatives of the festeros and technicians of the council of Equality.
Ana Belén Castejón appeared, at the end of the Local Security Board, along with the Government delegate, the Councilor for Citizen Security, Francisco Aznar and the Vice President of the Federation of Troops and Legions, Ramón Jerez;
to announce the news of the device.
The councilor has announced that it will be made up of 170 local police officers who will ensure safety, and that its design has been designed taking into account that Cartagena is in Alert 4, and for which a total of 1,360 hours will be used. NET.
Castejón has also explained the main developments that this year are incorporated into the device.
One of them will be the creation of a violet point of attention to victims of sexual or sexist aggressions.
This point will be located in the same house that the Polícia Local has located at the entrance of the Festial Site.
The attention to the victims that require this service will be provided by personnel of the Department of Equality, and if the circumstances require it, the corresponding complaint can be presented in the same place, without the need to go to the Police Station.
Another novelty will be that the Vigilance and Rescue Device in the Beaches of the Municipality of Cartagena will be maintained during the 10 days of the holidays.
It will do so at the beaches of Zeus and Galua in La Manga, Mar Menor in Mar de Cristal, Cartagena in Cala Cortina, and La Azohía in San Ginés.
All of them will have a service with Civil Protection guards from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Also, the councilor for Citizen Security, Francisco Aznar, has said that during the week there will be an average of 15 agents per day ensuring the safety of citizens and visitors, while the weekend will have 25 police officers, to which there is Add the ordinary service agents.
For his part, the government delegate, Diego Conesa, has stressed the importance in this cooperation device between all the bodies and forces of State Security.
In this sense Conesa has announced that the services of National Police and Civil Guard will also be reinforced in the districts and councils where they have competence.

Finally, the Vice President of the Federation of Troops and Legions, Ramón Jerez, has emphasized the importance of combining fun with safety and has said that all festeros collaborate with the security forces for the proper development of the acts.
SITUATION OF CRIMINALITY IN CARTAGENA
The delegate of the Government in the CARM, Diego Conesa, has taken advantage of the appearance, after attending his first Local Safety Board in Cartagena, to explain the latest data on the crime situation in the municipality.
As reported by Conesa, Cartagena has a crime rate of 36.8 per 1,000 inhabitants, while the national index is at 44.5, which places Cartagena more than 8 points below the national average.
Even so, Conesa recognizes that crimes inside vehicles have increased, as well as crimes with credit cards and Internet scams, a fact that occurs throughout the country.
