THE ANTIRUMMERS STRATEGY

The Anti-Mood Strategy is an innovative initiative that is being promoted in several Spanish and European cities to dismantle prejudices, negative stereotypes and false rumors about the group of immigrants.

Recognized as good practice by the European Commission and the Council of Europe.

It started in Barcelona and has been implemented in several Spanish cities.

It originated in 2010, when the City Council of Barcelona promoted a strategy to counteract negative rumors about cultural diversity and, in this way, prevent discrimination, racism and xenophobia by addressing coexistence in diversity as a value in itself.

The cities of the Network of Intercultural Cities in Spain (RECI), of which Cartagena is a part since its creation in 2011, committed to promoting diversity management policies based on interculturalism, share methodologies, tools and good practices , and participate jointly in projects aimed at promoting the culture of diversity and as a result, this initiative emerged within the framework of various meetings promoted from the RECI, where the effort of the cities had been shared to encourage the participation of the youngest in the actions and strategies to fight against rumors and prejudices towards migrants.
