The Department of Education of the City of Cartagena, with the collaboration of the Social Services, has organized the II March "Back to school", under the theme "every day without fail", which will be released on Tuesday September 11 at 9 : 30 hours from CEIPS Aníbal, from Los Mateos;
Asdrúbal, from Lo Campano;
and Nuestra Señora del Mar, from Santa Lucía, and will end at the IES Santa Lucía.
There will be received at 11:30 am the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, who will greet the children and the teachers, and will give way to the activities that will happen throughout the morning at the IES Santa Lucia.
The presentation of this activity, which aims to combat school absenteeism, has been carried out by the mayor of the Education area, David Martínez Noguera, who will also be at the march on Tuesday, September 11.
The councilor pointed out that the objective is for students to start the course with much enthusiasm and enthusiasm, since absenteeism is not only an educational problem, but also a social one "that affects families and makes it more difficult for young people to train".
He has also emphasized the need for administrations to fight to eliminate obstacles, since failure, repetition and abandonment are short-term effects, but the long-term consequences are tremendously worrying when developing social skills, family and professionals.
The councilor pointed out that the participation of 800 people in the march, which will be accompanied by bands of horns and drums and the animation of the Murga, while indicating that once they reach the IES Santa Lucia, will be enjoy the performances of UrbanCT and the Zumba Group of Lo Campano.
David Martinez has indicated that they are going to distribute backpacks, hats, water and fruit, for children to eat lunch that day, and has set at 1.19% the number of school absenteeism, which according to Martinez, has decreased in recent years, although it has indicated that it must decrease until it reaches 0.
