● The training wants to know the amounts that have been transferred to the National Museum of Underwater Archeology in the last ten years
● "We want to know if the center's campaigns are being adequately financed, including the wreck of the Nuestra Seora de las Mercedes," says Deputy Jos Luis Martnez
Citizens have asked the Government to clarify what investments and concrete actions it plans to carry out in the National Museum of Underwater Archeology of Cartagena, Arqua.
The deputies Miguel Garaulet and Jos Luis Martnez have raised a written question in which they also ask the Executive to detail the amounts that have been allocated to the Arqua since 2008. "The Arqua currently develops several research channels, among which are the campaigns on the wreck of the 'Nuestra Seora de las Mercedes', besides being the headquarters of the observatory that develops the National Plan for the Protection of the Underwater Archaeological Heritage, and we want to know if these lines of work are being promoted through adequate financing ", Martinez has highlighted.
"As an entity responsible for making our underwater cultural heritage known to citizens, in addition to promoting its conservation and protection, Arqua is a key player in the cultural field;
but it is also a tourist attraction for Cartagena and by extension for our entire Region ", said the orange deputy, who adds that" to maintain this work and this tourist pole it is necessary that all administrations are involved in its maintenance and financing , and for that reason we request this information to the Government ".
