The Region of Murcia currently has 5,436 regulated accommodations and a total of 60,385 seats
The hotel plant in the Region of Murcia continues its modernization process and adds 160 new seats at the Hostel Loop INN in Cartagena.
The Minister of Tourism and Culture, Miriam Guardiola, attended today the inauguration of this second establishment of the Region opened with the commercial hall of 'hostel', after the opening of Bea Beach de Águilas last July.
The opening of both establishments has been facilitated by the entry into force, on June 7, of the new decree 123/2018 by which, for the first time, the tourist and youth hostels of the Region of Murcia are regulated.
Guardiola, accompanied by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and representatives of RYA hotel management SL, indicated that the launch of this new hostel, located in the old town of Cartagena, "will undoubtedly help to revitalize even more this zone of the city through the arrival of a tourism with familiar and juvenile profile ".
Thus, he added, "the opening of the Hostel Loop INN is aligned with two of the main objectives of the Ministry and the Strategic Tourism Plan of the Region of Murcia 2015-2019 to achieve structural change: the diversification of the tourism market and the renovation of the accommodation plant ".
"The inauguration of this infrastructure occurs at a key moment, marked by the implementation by the Community of measures such as tax incentives, the publication of a catalog of land and new services such as the opening of an advisory office for the completion of procedures with administrations, "Guardiola said.
Last year the Region had the opening and reopening of a significant number of establishments, in addition to carrying out extensions, changes of ownership and actions to attract groups of investors.
The Region, to date, has a total of 60,385 places in its accommodation plant and 5,436 regulated accommodations.
Guardiola said that "the goal is to continue looking for new lines of financing to help modernize and revitalize our resorts and hotel facilities, taking firm steps towards changing the tourist model that can only be achieved if the destination has a new accommodation offer regulated quality ".
Facilities
The Hostel Loop INN in Cartagena, located on San Crispin Street, has seven single rooms, 15 double rooms, 22 with four beds, one with six beds and two with eight beds.
It also has a room adapted for people with disabilities.
Their rates range between 19 and 47 euros.
The new hostel has a common room and kitchen, as well as a gym, games room and a solarium in the attic, from where you can see the five hills of the port city.
