CTSSP - PODEMOS denounces that the drama of the Cartagena deputation, as in much of the municipality, is caused by industrial emissions, traffic and other factors that aggravate the environmental pollution of Cartagena
CTSSP - PODEMOS has criticized the Autonomous Community and the City Council for hiding, under the umbrella of the real entrance of sub-Saharan dust, the pressing problem of environmental pollution that Cartagena is experiencing, and in particular the surroundings close to the industrial poles such as SABIC in The Aljorra.
The purple formation has demanded to stop deceiving the neighbors, that the maximum transparency in relation to the values ​​of the environmental contamination is guaranteed, and that the administrations specify in a concrete way if the alert decreed (within the Framework Protocol of municipal action) is due solely to sub-Saharan dust or there are other factors that collaborate in it.
Likewise, the municipal group has demanded that the regional administration comply once and for all with the word promised for years, stop cheating the citizens and restore the equipment of the measuring stations (paralyzed in hiring for years) , since many of them are totally obsolete, they do not measure continuously, they break often ... and there are others that directly throw deceptive data, such as La Aljorra, whose house is surrounded by trees.
Pilar Marcos, spokesperson for the municipal group and SG of the party in Cartagena, recalled that: "In Cartagena we have a drama with pollution.
Even if the City Council and the CARM continue to wash their hands, our air is still dirty.
It seems incredible that nobody can solve this problem of health and the environment, when there is so much to do: regulate traffic, control cruises, reduce industrial emissions of gases into the atmosphere, promote public transport, bicycle or design a city friendly with pedestrians.

CTSSP-PODEMOS has asked the Government to call a new Air Quality Bureau, where municipal and regional technicians inform neighbors of these latest episodes of contamination, addressing specific proposals within the framework of comprehensive solutions, as is being done in other parts of Spain, and the Autonomous Community is required to comply with all the promises made during the last legislature.
Finally, the purple formation has insisted that the CARM does leave functions by allowing SABIC to finance studies on air quality that the factory itself issues, which in this way violates an elementary principle of neutrality: in any case SABIC should pay for the decontamination if any, not the studies that tell us if the air is contaminated or not ... It is incredible that at this point the fox is put to take care of the hens.
