The president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), Mario Urrea, has received for the first time the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, to address issues of competence of the basin organization in the municipality.
Both administrations open a new stage of collaboration with this first meeting.
The mayor has transmitted the main issues that affect your municipality and that are the responsibility of the CHS, among which has highlighted the cleaning and maintenance of ramblas;
the situation of the Mar Menor;
and the demands of the farmers of the region to authorize the opening of new water wells.
The president of the CHS has conveyed to the mayor that she understands the magnitude of the socio-economic impact that is derived from the situation of the Mar Menor and some wadis in Cartagena, and has committed to analyze in detail each case.
With regard to the ramblas, in addition, Urrea has analyzed together with Castejón which are the priority points to act on them as soon as possible and avoid setbacks in the event of torrential rains.
