The Infrastructure area of ​​the City of Cartagena, led by councilor Juan Pedro Torralba, has already awarded works worth 355,209.60 euros for three of the neighborhoods with the largest population in the municipality, such as Nueva Cartagena, San Antón and Mediterranean urbanization.
Among the works is the new playground adapted for children with intellectual disabilities and reduced mobility that will be built in Juan Carlos I Square in Nueva Cartagena, which will have games adapted for children with reduced mobility.
It should be noted that this park of 11,033 square meters is located next to the School of Special Education Primitiva López and is currently the recreational area of ​​the students of this center.
This new infrastructure, which is part of the Participatory Budgets of 2018, has a budget of 97,125.20 euros, a period of execution of two months and the deadline to submit offers ends today.
"The main objective of this City Council is to recover spaces for citizens, especially for the little ones.
In this case, adapted games will be installed with Pocoyo figures in which we will ensure that all children in the municipality can enjoy them, "said the mayor of Infrastructure, Juan Pedro Torralba.
For the neighborhood of San Antón, the planned investment is 70,000 euros, which will be invested in paving a total of 9 streets in a project framed in Financially Sustainable Investments.
Specifically, it is the streets Roman Bono, Sagrada Familia, Travesia del Molino, Antonio Ramos, Ginés Otón Rosique, Mulloys and Galán, Callao Larga, Callao Corta and San Luis.
The deadline to submit offers ended on August 29 and has a deadline of 2 months.
As for the Mediterranean Urbanization, it will begin the comprehensive remodeling of the Mediterranean square, located next to the health center, thanks to an investment of 115,486.28 euros and that is also part of the Participatory Budgets this year.
The works will consist of solving current accessibility problems, renovating street furniture, trees and landscaped areas, pavement and children's games, which will also be adapted for children with reduced mobility.
In addition, it is about to conclude the first phase of the remodeling of the changing rooms for women and men of the Mediterranean Urbanization sports center in which 72,598.12 euros have been invested.
In the same way, the drafting of the project with which the referee's wardrobe will be constructed, whose works will begin shortly, is being completed.
The works of the sports center are part of the Financially Sustainable Investments.
As the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has repeatedly stated, improving the infrastructure of the neighborhoods of Cartagena is a priority for this government team.
