Cartagena Port of Cultures will close the exhibition Gladiators, gods of the sand, with a Roman-inspired dinner that will take us to the first gladiatorial battle held in the Iberian Peninsula, a fact that happened in Carthago Nova.
To immortalize this historical moment, we will have the theater company Ditirambo Espectáculos, which has been re-creating the history of Cartagena for more than 20 years, where on this occasion a dozen actors will introduce the audience to a distant world to savor Roman pleasures that will connect with our past.
The menu that will be tasted that night is inspired by the cookbook of Marco Gavio Apicio, the first gourmet in the history of gastronomy.
This menu has been designed by Juan Páez, chef at Restaurante Los Habaneros, which fuses Mediterranean ingredients with a lot of history to commemorate a night where traveling through time will not be a thing of the future.
