The popular runners have the last appointment of the summer next Saturday, September 1, in El Algar: The Cross climb to the Fuente del Sapo, which also celebrates its 25th anniversary.

To present all the details, the mayor of Deportes, Obdulia Gómez, appeared before the media;

Thus, the Cross Climb to the Fuente del Sapo, which consists of 10 kilometers, with a vertical drop of 150 meters, will be held at the deputation of El Algar starting at 7:00 p.m.

The event is organized by the El Algar Sports Club and has the collaboration of the City of Cartagena.

As indicated by the mayor of Sports, "it is one of the iconic events of the sports and tourism image of the city of Cartagena and its surroundings," while adding that "this test also closes the program" Sports in the Arena 'framework of the sporting events of the summer season of the municipality.'

On the other hand, the mayor and technical director, Francisco José Campillo, wanted to emphasize that a broad participation is expected, which could exceed 1,000 people.

"In addition to the 800 numbers that we will distribute on the day of the test, it is expected that there will be around 150 volunteers, and not only the runner participates, but also those who are involved with the test in another way and make it possible", he said. designated Campillo.

Of these 800 athletes, 50 are local runners, "that in such a small population is a very significant figure," said the technical director.

The mayor of Sports has also explained that "those children whose families have few resources can register for the test for free through the Department of Social Care", since this sporting event is also designed for the minor runners.

Finally, the runner, Jaro Caparrós, has indicated that it is one of the most important races of the year and wanted to launch a council to the participants "be careful in the exit because after you pay it in the steep climbs that make up the layout of the proof".
