The City of Cartagena, through Cartagena Puerto de Culturas and Renfe have closed a new collaboration agreement to promote the Carthaginian and Roman festivities and tourism in the city among the travelers of the railway line.
This promotion will introduce the Carthaginians and Romans Festivities, which this year are celebrated from September 21 to 30.
Renfe users will be able to relive mythical episodes such as the foundation of Qart Hadast by the Carthaginian General Asdrúbal el Bello;
or the events that took place in the context of the Second Punic War, such as the battles and the conquest of the city, whose outcome was the birth of the Roman city of Carthago Nova with Hannibal and Scipio the African as protagonists.
To accompany the experience of the festivities, Cartagena Puerto de Culturas offers the opportunity to visit the archaeological remains and monuments that were witness and consequence of these historical events: the legendary Punic Wall, the great Roman Theater Museum, the little Pompeya Cartagena, the Barrio del Foro Romano, and the rest of the museums managed by the consortium.
Travelers who buy long-distance tickets on the Talgo trains of Barcelona-Cartagena, Altaria of Madrid-Cartagena and AVE of Madrid-Alicante, will obtain discounts of 2x1 in all the museums and tourist transport of Cartagena Port of Cultures.
To obtain 2x1 tickets you only have to present the ticket, valid for this offer, in any of the Museums of Cartagena Puerto de Culturas.
