Irene Martínez, from Jaén, took the Molino de Plata on the 25th anniversary of the Festival of the Spanish Song of Molino Derribao, whose festival took place last Saturday, August 18, with the performance of Juan Antonio Valderrama.
The 25th edition of this traditional festival began on Friday August 17 with the reading of the proclamation, whose words of welcome were pronounced by the mayor of Education, Youth and Culture, David Martinez.
During this first day of the Festival, which has had the collaboration of the City of Cartagena, the qualifying phase was played in which five of the participants managed to move to the final round and whose night ended with the performance of Araceli Campillo accompanied the guitar by Luis Calderito.
It was already during the night of Saturday August 18 when the Festival lived its Great Night, the final phase in which the five previously classified participants exhibited on stage all their talent to take the Silver Mill, the flagship of the meeting of the Spanish Song, that finally fell on the cantaora of Jaén Irene Martínez.
The second place was held by Ubaldo Valverde, also from this Andalusian city;
meanwhile, the Tamara Delgado from Cadiz occupied third place.
Eva María Herrero, coming from Puerto de Santa María and Pepita Mantas de Córdoba took fourth and fifth places respectively.
The artist Juan Antonio Valderrama, closed the XXV national festival of the Spanish Song, as his father did 25 years ago, at a gala in which was present the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón with the mayor of Celebrations, Juan Pedro Torralba ;
the mayor of Culture, Education and Youth, David Martínez;
to the mayor of Deportes, Obdulia Gómez and the councilor of the area of ​​Sustainable Development and Public Function, Francisco Aznar.
As a novelty and to commemorate the silver anniversary of the festival, the Orchestra of Fran Rivero was on stage.
