The Brotherhood of San Ginés de la Jara, along with the Brotherhood of Romeros and the Parish of San Ginés, has organized for Friday and Saturday a series of events in honor of the patron of Cartagena, which this year celebrates its 341 years of patronage .
The activities, in which the City of Cartagena collaborates with other entities, will take place in the neighborhood of San Ginés and will begin on Friday, August 24, at 8 pm, with a parade and a floral offering to the patron who will depart from the social premises to the parish.
There at 20:30 hours the proclamation will be pronounced, which will be borne by the Californian elder brother, Juan Carlos de la Cerra, and whose completion will be served to all attendees.
On Saturday, August 25, the patron saint's feast, a mass will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the parish, followed by a procession with the image of San Ginés de la Jara, which will run along the Avenue de Ingeniero de la Cierva.
Participants may wear regional costumes.
Upon arrival at the temple will take place the traditional solidarity sale of bread rolls of San Ginés, as well as a chocolate with buns and lemonade from San Ginés.
All these activities are parallel to the traditional pilgrimage organized every year by the Romeros de San Ginés de la Jara Sisterhood, which this year will be held on Saturday, August 25, towards the monastery.
