The fishing village of El Portús will once again experience its traditional Sera Marinera Portisium Jabega, in which the City Council of Cartagena collaborates.
The coastal town has been - and continues to be - a fishing village, of which there are still descendants among its inhabitants.
This act commemorates the origins of this town simulating the cove and collection of the seine, traditional fishing gear in the Levantine coast.
This representation, which has already become an emblematic act of this fishing place, will be held next Saturday, August 25 at 8:30 p.m. at El Portús beach.
Dressed in clothes used for fishing in 1900, the cove will be made and the seine will be collected. This is the name given to the traditional art of Levantine fishing as well as to the boat used to fish.
Using the traditional means of that time, will set the nets for then, from the beach, beach a ship of time, with a vertical lathe dated 1940. The cove of the seine will be made open flake, that is, without death to fish.
