The Roman Theater Museum of Cartagena organizes, together with the Carthaginian Council, the temporary exhibition 'La mirada de Himilce'.
A photographic exhibition that captures the eyes of the different women who gave life to Princess Imilce, in the Feasts of Carthaginians and Romans.
It will open on September 6 at 8:00 p.m.
The exhibition wants to pay tribute to the women who during the Second Punic War suffered the ups and downs of history, protecting the city and its inhabitants.
The exhibition is a tour through the photographs of Juan José Ruiz Montoya and Juan Rodríguez Álvarez that capture the eyes of the different women who gave life to the Princess Imilce at the Carthaginian and Roman festivals.
The snapshots are made in different historical sites of the city, offering the image of the princess as a woman of her time: from childhood, the preparations of marriage, motherhood and also the fears of war.
Princess Himilce resonates with her own voice in Cartagena today, in her Carthaginian and Roman festivals, where she represents the Iberian and Punic women, the pride of the bride at the Anníbal Weddings and is the protagonist in the Oracle of Tanit.
The different Himilces, women of today, keep alive the memory of those others who, like Himice, wove the thread of History.
The exhibition is completed with an audiovisual with entradillas in Spanish and English.
