The Department of Infrastructure of the City of Cartagena, through parks and gardens, has been making, since early July, the pruning of 700 copies of date palm and Washington distributed in the municipality.
In this way, the summer season is used, which is the same as pruning palm trees, and also, the months in which, when people are on holiday, there is less traffic and therefore, it is a question of generating the least possible inconvenience to the neighbors.
The works began in the Alameda de San Antón and Calle Real, where the date tree, a protected native species, proliferates, continuing along the Paseo Alfonso XII in the port, where refolding and removal of branches of other trees are also proceeding to avoid interfering with the Passage of tourist buses, mainly.
The operators of Parks and Gardens will continue with these tasks until next week, culminating with the pruning of the palm trees located in the square of the old CIM.
