The Governing Board has also approved the implementation of a pilot program for the accession of Cartagena to the Red de Playas Sin Humo, specifically, in Playa Paraíso, in front of the Salinas de Marchamalo, and in Larga beach in the regional park of Calblanque
These beaches will be open access, will have specific signage and will be spaces in which the public will be made aware of the risks of smoking, although they will not contemplate economic sanctions for those who fail to comply with this recommendation.
The initiative is accompanied by an informative program that aims to raise awareness about the negative effects for both health and the environment.
