The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, is pleased that the regional government and the Port Authority have highlighted this morning, at the meeting on the Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL), their support for the need for rail freight traffic do not go through El Hondón, as stated in the Institutional Declaration of the Municipal Plenary approved unanimously and supported by neighbors and businessmen, promoted by the first mayor.
Said declaration has supposed to suspend the previous agreement of the Cartagena High Speed Company, with which it was tried to impose the railway route that crossed the Hondón and that did not include the burial.
The mayor has urged the president of the Port Authority to finance part of the works of the tracing of goods, especially the deviation of Alumbres, which would pass next to the future ZAL with the aim that they can be streamlined to the maximum.
SEPES wants to facilitate the installation of companies in the ZAL
On the other hand, during the meeting that has been held this morning, the mayor has informed attendees that the Secretary of State for Development, Pedro Saura, will meet in August with representatives of the Autonomous Community and employers to outline the agreement by which the Public Land Business Entity (SEPES) wants to facilitate the installation of companies in the Logistics Activities Zone.
Ana Belén Castejón has been satisfied by the decision of the Autonomous Community to declare the ZAL of Cartagena as an Action of Regional Interest, as well as the deadlines set by the counselor for its implementation.
"It's good news.
I only hope that the Community complies with the announced timetable and does not pass as is happening with fundamental documentation for Cartagena such as the Transitory Rules, which we are still waiting for to be approved, "said Castejón.
