The Perín festivities are already underway, the donkey, or rather its replica in papier-mâché, preparing to climb the belfry to fulfill its mission of eating the bushes that proliferate in the tower and that no one is willing to start. It collects in the legend that goes back more than 200 years ago, and the 'thinking minds' have manifested.
Specifically, they met on Tuesday with exceptional guests, the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, along with the councilors of the government team David Martínez and Obdulia Gómez.
On this occasion, the woman was the protagonist in the traditional theatrical performance in which the moment is staged in which the neighbors, after consensus and after the corresponding discussion, take the decision to entrust the mission to the donkey Lucero.
The Ascent to the Bell Tower, the main highlight of the festivities, will be this Saturday, August 4, at the end of the afternoon.
