The Board of Directors of Cartagena Puerto de Culturas, met today Tuesday under the presidency of the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, with two points on the agenda to which has been given the go-ahead, launching two projects referred to the Barrio del Foro Romano, "one of the most important gems of our archaeological heritage and for which, from the town hall, we bet strongly", said the mayor.
It deals, on the one hand, with the adjudication of the design and production of infographics for the Roman Molinete Forum, to the Bawat company, the only one that had been presented, for an amount of 29,500 euros (plus VAT).
And on the other hand, the execution of the archaeological intervention project of the Curia, carried out by the director of Archeology of the Roman Forum, María José Madrid, and that has been awarded through a minor contract to the UTE CYDEMIR-Inteligencia Inteligente, which is leading out the works of the museographic center, for an amount of 43,185.68 euros (VAT not included).
The action will consist, among other works, in the excavation of a contemporary cistern in the eastern zone, as well as in the area occupied by the staircase that connects the intermediate and lower floors, the cleaning of the structures conserved in the Curia and bordering areas, and the washing and transfer of archaeological materials to the Municipal Archaeological Museum.
The execution of this project requires, in addition, the hiring, also by means of a minor contract, of the Technical Direction of Archeology and an archaeologist assistant.
