- "The local executive should not forget the coast of Cartagena and therefore we urge the Government to listen to the demands of the neighbors and to collaborate to promote in those places the tourism sector", says the spokesman of the orange formation, Manuel Padín
The location of the market, the reform of the seafront, the poor pavement and lighting system of some streets and the lack of maintenance of parks and gardens, are some of the issues that remain on the agenda of the demands of the neighbors of Los Nietos despite the fact that the Municipal Citizens Group has repeatedly urged the local Executive to solve them.
"The town of Los Nietos has great potential to become a tourist attraction and generate wealth around this sector, but needs the strong support of the local government and other relevant agencies to solve their deficiencies," he said today. spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, in the information tent that the orange line has installed today in front of the street market.
The change of location of the market is, according to some neighbors, a first step to increase its tourist attraction, since it would happen to be held in a place with better accessibility and could be mounted throughout the year, "you just have to get this market mount weekly throughout the year, in the location granted by the administration, "says orange spokesman.
For his part, the president of the AAVV, Angel Lozano, said during a meeting with Manuel Padin, that the paralysis of budgets has greatly affected this town, since the delay in investments and subsidies has increased the stagnation of the zone.
"The neighbors have warned us on several occasions that they feel abandoned by the local and regional administration, the problems of lack of park maintenance, lack of regional and state investments, asphalt deficiency and lighting, now adds the risk environmental that can suppose the existence of blind wells already unnecessary, without that until the moment the City council has done nothing to avoid it ", affirms the orange spokesman, Manuel Padín.
According to the president of the neighborhood collective, a few weeks ago they met with the general director of Environment and Mar Menor, Antonio Luengo, with the socialist councilor Juan Pedro Torralba, and with several technicians to talk about the Mar Menor, but Lozano assures that in no time was spoken about the blind wells and the environmental risk that they can entail.
Wells blind in Los Nietos
The blind wells were installed in Los Nietos as a system to collect sewage and fecal water from homes that lacked connection to the sewer system at that time.
Nowadays, this population already has a complete sewerage network but, according to the neighbors, some houses still do not connect.
"It is necessary that the local government face this problem so that, together with the other relevant agencies, look for a solution so that neighbors can connect their homes to the sewerage network," says Manuel Padin who says he has already moved of this matter both the Decentralization Councilor, Juan Pedro Torralba, as well as the service concessionaire, Hidrogea.
The lack of maintenance of streets and gardens of Los Nietos is another of the deficiencies reported by neighbors and, they say, damaged the image and tourist attraction of the area.
"We can not allow the residents of Los Nietos to feel abandoned by the administration, and the worst thing is that it is not the only locality that denounces a similar situation." The local executive should not forget the coast of Cartagena and therefore we urge the Government to listen to the demands of the neighbors and collaborate to boost the tourism sector in those places, "says Manuel Padín.
