After consulting with different technicians and municipal managers of the Sports area of ​​the City of Cartagena, Ciudadanos decided to take a motion to the next Plenary to request that the Sports Observatory, promoted by Cs, work on the modification of the Regulation of Use and Operation of the Sports facilities of Cartagena.

According to the spokesperson for Citizens in Cartagena, "we are convinced that the process of transferring municipal sports facilities to associations and clubs in Cartagena has to be done under scrupulous criteria of equity, merit and need, as is the case in any other municipality. Spanish".

According to Citizens, this document, which regulates this issue in the municipality, is currently too abstract and requires more specificity;

it does not even include the right to free transfer to the non-profit entities that need it, "explained Manuel Padín, who has indicated that it is necessary" to specify by means of the modification of the regulation or the creation of an ordinance the conditions of access and use of our sports facilities for all sports entities that exist in Cartagena ".

Citizens has explained that in any other large city, the reservation of municipal spaces is clearly planned and ordered, with dates for the submission of applications, and with criteria and requirements, to non-profit entities that, due to their characteristics, need special promotion. or protection, "this is done in Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Murcia or Mula, there regulations regulate this, but not ours, the Madrid, for example, the criteria for the transfer of free space to applicants who demonstrate that they lack adequate or sufficient sports facilities for the development of their activities, among others, the number of athletes participating in competition, the number of members, if there is promotion of women's sport and for people with disabilities, or the category and its sporting projection ".

"The new regulation will serve to seek an orderly fit for new associations and clubs but respecting the importance, history and tradition of those who already exist and have been promoting the Cartagena quality sport for many years," said Manuel Padín.
