"I know very well the great work that Accem is doing in the city", said Castejón during his visit.
Not in vain, the Accem Foundation has been working closely, since 2008, with the City of Cartagena, through various action projects in the municipality.
Some of these activities have been financed through various grants at the state, regional, and also by the Department of Social Services.
"In this year we have been able to collaborate with them with around 30,000 euros, which have served to develop and execute different projects and programs," said the councilor, who also expressed her desire to be able to continue helping them and increasing the level of involvement.
Likewise, Accem has collaborated with the Agency for Local Development and Employment (ADLE), of the City of Cartagena, to work jointly developing initiatives aimed at the socio-labor insertion of the immigrant collective.
The mayor wanted to remember the arrival, a year ago, of a large number of immigrants to Cartagena, "thanks to entities such as Accem we were able to develop a great social work and help them", Castejón remarked, "today I checked again the great work they do. "
For his part, the territorial head of Accem in the Region of Murcia, Mohammed Kebaili, has taken advantage of this visit to thank the support received by the foundation from the City Council.
Kebaili explained that all the programs they carry out from Accem are important, "we work with people who are in a very difficult situation, at a very difficult time in their lives, and we try to support these people to get out of this situation,
Accem collaborates closely with the Department of Social Services, especially with the office of attention to the immigrant and with the office of passers-by and homeless people, to offer among other services: the assistance to the homeless, maintenance of exclusion floor, as well as the attention and orientation to immigrants.
