The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has demanded this morning from the regional president a firm commitment that the Transitory Rules will be approved in September, after the meeting of the Technical Commission that took place at the Palacio de Aguirre, and to which It has assisted the mayor of urban planning, Francisco Aznar.
Castejón hopes that these rules are endorsed at the start of the new political course by the Governing Council so that they can enter into force and unlock business projects for Cartagena worth 130 million euros.
"We have 3 industrial projects in the Valley of Escombreras awaiting the approval of the Transitory Regulations, as well as other 13 residential, which contemplate the construction of more than 600 homes in the central metropolitan area of Cartagena.
We are not only talking about what will generate economic growth but also employment, "he said.
The mayor recalled that on February 15 the Technical Commission, formed by the City Council and Development, approved the text of the Transitory Rules that was published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia on the 23 of that same month, specifying that it was opened a period of 20 days to present allegations.
On May 4, both the counselor and the general secretary of development met with the mayor of Urbanism, Francisco Aznar, as well as the presidents of the Chamber of Commerce and the COEC to assure them that in less than 15 days all would be answered and each of the 64 allegations raised.
"The Transitory Rules should have entered into force at most on May 20.
The regional government has lost two months and we still have no date for its implementation, "said the mayor.
As for the answers to the allegations, the Autonomous Community has already confirmed that all of them have been duly answered, in fact the last report is dated May 17, but during the meeting this morning, the general secretary of the Ministry has confirmed that it is going to request the Legal Council of the Region of Murcia a new report that gives greater legal guarantees to this document.
From the City council will support any measure that offers security to this document, but what we do not understand is that they have been lost two months being finished the work.
If at the end of May the report had been requested to the council and the answers to the allegations had been transferred, the Governing Council could have already given the green light to the implementation of the Transitory Rules ".
For Castejón, the meeting held today "has only served for the City of Cartagena to be aware of the answers to the allegations, since the local government neither estimates nor dismisses because we do not have the competence to do so.
For that reason, I have demanded to Fomento that we can dispose of the rules at the beginning of the new political course in September. "
The City meets the stipulated
For its part, the City of Cartagena has met all the requirements requested by the regional government for the approval of the rules and including a close collaboration with the Ministry of Development in the drafting thereof, which were first approved by the Plenary municipal and that, while these procedures were developed the Cartagena Consistory took out the contracting service of advice and writing of documents of advance, strategic start and process of public participation of the revision of the General Urban Plan (PGOU), which will be hired shortly.
