MC Cartagena will present several proposals to the next Assembly of the Neighborhood Board of Isla Plana La Azohía for the improvement and adaptation of the environment of the Isla de Plana Water Cave, the creation of a consortium that encompasses Isla Plana and Perín, besides being interested in the existing deficiencies in terms of general services in the core of San Ginés de La Azohía.

Due to the latest events in Thailand, the MC member, Pedro Celdrán, recalled that "the Cave of Water, located on Isla Plana, is known by resientes, tourists and diving professionals, assuming a good tourist attraction for Isla Plana and its west coast. "

However, he added that "the tragic events that have occurred and that we all remember is due to the fact that there is not a good methodical compliance with norms for the development of this type of underwater activities".

The Cave of Water contains 2.5 Kilometers in length with a maze of limestone galleries, some of them, with 20 meters deep and deposits of silt in their bottoms that in any sudden movement causes their waters to become muddy.

Its temperatures oscillate between 20 and 30 degrees, being in an area of ​​hot springs connected underground.

This situation, as highlighted by Celdrán, makes it convenient to transfer to the competent administrations the need to reinforce the security protocol, with more information and visualization of signage with description of its characteristics, uses of its activities or notices of the beginning of activities at centers of coordination of emergencies and security, and also adapt its location with cleaning, fencing of protection space with coexisting material or lighting.

Therefore, the Plenary of the Neighborhood Board will be requested to urge the City Council to be the coordinator of the meeting and of the future work table, giving a transfer to the different competent administrations in sports matters such as the Sports General Directorate of the CARM , the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena, the federations of Underwater Activities and Speleology and the Special Group of Underwater Activities of the Civil Guard, to carry out a close collaboration for the implementation of formal measures of use and sports activities and improvement and adaptation of the environment of the "Cueva del Agua in Isla Plana.

Finally, it will be demanded that, once the proposals by the aforementioned members have been gathered, a material project and measures execution will be elaborated.

Creation of the entity 'Costa de Cartagena'

Likewise, MC will request that the Neighborhood Council of Isla Plana La Azohía urge the municipal government of Cartagena to initiate the administrative file so that, with the rest of the administrations, an entity project for the integral management of the 'Costa de Cartagena.

Similarly, Pedro Celdrán has reported that "the coast of Cartagena is unique in its biodiversity to have the Mar Menor, two marine reserves, those of Cabo de Palos and Cabo Tiñoso, but also for its scenic diversity from Isla Plana to La Manga, with the cliffs of the west zone or the beaches of Calblanque ".

The member of MC has called attention to the fact that "the coastal settlements of our municipality have been overwhelmed by the absence of planning", in addition to the little that can be expected "from the superior administrations".

Celdrán recalled that "by the year 2018, MC Cartagena has introduced in the municipal budget an amendment of 100,000 euros for other studies and technical work under the heading 'Costa de Cartagena', a proposal that has a double aspect: that of a campaign of dissemination and awareness, which should also serve as a tourist attraction, on the benefits of the coast of Cartagena, and the development of a master plan to program the actions in environmental, infrastructure and tourism in a unitary way in all coastal areas, enhancing the uniqueness of our coast, but also homogenizing its services and projection, reaching a quality standard that, in general, has been denied by the administrations until now ".

"In this second aspect, this proposal is incardinated, since we consider essential the action unit for the entire coast of the maritime province of Cartagena, for which the creation of an entity participated by the different administrations that allows an integral management", should be studied. has added the representative of the cartagenerista formation.

The neighborhood councils of Perín and Isla Plana encompass populations, the first coast, and the second inland.

Both have special characteristics due to their location and specific characteristics for their development, which are not taken care of and taken care of as their territory and population deserve.

All local, regional and national governments have been paying little or no attention to our situation, both as a coastal and inland area, despite the situation of Campillo and Cabo Tiñoso, which are part of the Natural Resources Plan (PORN). ).

Deficiencies of general services in the population center of San Ginés de La Azohía

Pedro Celdrán has highlighted, among the main deficiencies existing in San Ginés de La Azohía the lack of lighting, signaling, as well as irregularities that have some stretches of pavement in roads.

Also, has indicated, "we can visually perceive the existence of aerial wiring between electric poles with heads of old luminaires of low performance, high consumption and high economic cost", to which must be added "the deterioration and lack of any safety signaling road and some stretch of deteriorated firm ".

Faced with this situation, the member of MC will ask the chair of the Board if he has made any arrangements with the City Council to carry out any investment in San Ginés;

if you plan to transfer the neighborhood needs of San Ginés to the councilor responsible for the area, Juan Pedro Torralba, and commit him to mark a calendar of actions;

If the lack of investment in the area is due to the PSOE understands that it will not obtain any political electoral revenue, as well as if the presidency plans to carry some type of investment in San Ginés in charge of the budgets of the Board.
