- The spokesman of Cs Cartagena has also informed that his group will present a motion in the next ordinary plenary session "to create park of companies linked to the blue economy in the Port of Cartagena"
On June 1, the Government of Cartagena presented the Strategic Employment Plan for Cartagena.
The document was then submitted to the consideration of the municipal groups that have had more than a month to be able to offer their proposals to the plan, so that it can be operational in the month of September.
The Municipal Citizens Group has informed today that it has already sent within the agreed period a set of initiatives to be included in the final document.
Among the orange proposals, the 'Cartagena Azul' program stands out.
The spokesman of the orange training has explained that it is about the "development of a strategy to promote this economic sector of great potentiality in Cartagena".
The European Union defines this economy as one that recognizes the importance of the seas and oceans as engines of the economy because of its great potential for innovation and growth.
The program that has presented Cs first passes through the design of a feasibility plan that identifies the strategy to be followed in this economic sphere and the start-up of the Blue Cartagena Association (which could potentially be linked to the future General Academy of the Sea of Cartagena, currently in the process of parliament) that directs the work of the plan and includes all the key agents of the sector in it.
Manuel Padín explained that the capture of knowledge from and for the economic sectors related to the marine environment, such as marine renewable energies, aquaculture, the agri-food sector of the sea, marine sports, or new materials, is a field full of possibilities that must be explored and exploited, "this city council should set itself the goal of creating spaces for interrelation between companies, entrepreneurs, research centers, training entities, all of them related to the blue economy".
Park of companies linked to the sea for the ordinary Plenary
On the other hand, Citizens will ask at the next Plenary for the creation of a pole or park of companies linked to the blue economy in the Port of Cartagena.
Orange spokesman has advanced that his group "is committed to diversify and strengthen the production model through an initiative that will urge the City and the regional government to work with the Port of Cartagena to get Cartagena is the capital of companies with technological and innovative base linked to the sea ".
Manuel Padín recalled that the European Business and Innovation Center of Murcia (CEEIM) presented in February the 'E-Blue' project in Murcia, in which entrepreneurs and workers of the coastal maritime tourism sector participate and where a Living-Lab, a space to identify the challenges posed by the sector and to look for new business opportunities in this tourist, maritime and coastal sector. "" I understand that the right place for all these movements around this type of economy should be in Cartagena, and not an interior municipality, "says Padin who warns that" another solution would be to go against all logic. "
Citizens will propose that the different administrations mark a road map that allows the business concentration in the Port "to conquer a more competitive economic future".
"Every time Cartagena has looked at the sea it has gone well, we have to bet on a blue economy that respects the environment, and for the creation of the Oceanographic Institute in one of our shore batteries, this will be the definitive accolade to place Cartagena in the place it deserves. "
The motion, which aims for Cartagena to focus on cities such as Liverpool, Genoa or Marseille that have already successfully undertaken this path, also proposes that a monographic session of the future Social Council of the city be held in which opportunities to convert to Cartagena in the Mediterranean capital of the blue economy.
