The Local Police of Cartagena will be integrated in the next few weeks into the regional emergency radio network (Radiecarm), since today it has the necessary software license to operate the 120 new portable radio transmitters equipped with TETRA Digital technology , that the City of Cartagena acquired in October last year and that they were waiting for this last procedure for its use.
The commissioning of these new terminals will guarantee greater autonomy and security for the agents, as well as better operation in their actions since it will allow them to be in contact with the different emergency services such as Civil Protection and Fire, as well as with all the police. region of.
All this will facilitate the tasks of the security forces and bodies in case of emergency, even in situations in which the rest of the systems have fallen.
The Councilor for Citizen Security, Francisco Aznar, together with the head of the Local Police, Eusebio Serna, this morning showed the new teams to the Minister of the Presidency, Pedro Rivera, who has visited the Security Park to make available to the body of Local Police the mentioned licenses for the use of the software.
The 120 new walkie-talkies correspond to the Motorola model MPT3550 with Tetra Digital radio technology and have GPS module that will allow to know the location of the units at all times, a high level of resistance to shock and humidity (IP65), lithium battery high capacity, display and advanced sound accessories.
They are also lighter and more compact than what the agents have been using to date.
Francisco Aznar has indicated that the City of Cartagena was commissioned to acquire the equipment, which have a cost of around 50,000 euros, in order to expedite the implementation of the same.
