The Youth Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena (JOSC) will celebrate its second birthday with an end-of-year concert that, under the title 'Return to the Volga', promises not to leave anyone indifferent.
The councilman of Culture Area, David Martínez, the principal director of the JOSC, Álvaro Pintado, and the president of the orchestra, Álvaro Valdesueiro, presented this morning the performance, which will take place in the El Batel Auditorium and Conference Center on next July 21 at 8:00 p.m.
"This is the III Summer Concert and for this occasion we have prepared a very demanding program for the orchestra but, in turn, especially attractive to the public," said the mayor of Culture.
With this meeting, the JOSCT arrives at the ecuador of a year in which the orchestra has launched itself towards a cycle of concerts full of challenges and new experiences.
"The title of our performance refers to our past summer concert 'Music on the banks of the Volga.
Russia and Bohemia ', with which we will perform works by Tchaikovsky and Dvorak, the same composers who starred in the previous summer concert, "said Valdesueiro.
The audience can enjoy a first part dedicated to Tchaikovsky, through his magnificent concert for violin and orchestra in Re Mayor, with the peculiarity that he will be played by a saxophone instead of a solo violin.
The interpretation will be in charge of maestro Antonio Felipe Belíjar, of international recognition and specialist in transcriptions, something not very common within the saxophonist guild.
Both the mayor and those responsible for the orchestra have agreed that "it is a luxury to have maestro Belijar", who will surprise everyone with his transcription for saxophone of the concert for violin of the great Tchaikovsky.
"A unique event that nobody should miss".
The second part will be dedicated to the maestro Antonín Dvorak, with the interpretation of his eighth symphony.
For this concentration, the Symphonic Youth Orchestra of Cartagena, committed to the artistic and professional formation and development of its musicians, will have the participation of five teachers violin, viola, cello, wind wood and wind metal, which will be responsible for conducting the rehearsals partial and sectional that are made during the week of tests.
BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN
JOSCT, in collaboration with the Hemodonation Center and with El Batel, has also organized the first day of blood donation and collection of bone marrow donors, which will take place on Wednesday, July 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 14: 00 hours in the Auditorium itself.
The first twenty donors will be given a ticket to the summer concert and JOSC will take advantage of the occasion to present the new Big Band, which will fill the city with jazz.
