'Architecture for people', this is the name given to the exhibition on contemporary Danish collective architecture that hosts until the end of the month the Engine Building of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, located on the Alfonso XIII campus.
The exhibition is part of a collaboration between the School of Architecture and Building Engineering of the UPCT and the Sea of ​​Music.
The sample consists of 12 panels.
Danish collective architecture focuses on creating spaces that generate new opportunities and promote diversity.
It focuses especially on environmental and social sustainability and on giving priority to people.
In Denmark, public architecture and urban planning play a crucial role in creating a framework for social development.
Danish architects are known for their capabilities around sustainability, energy saving and urban planning, as well as applying design processes that are centered on the people who will enjoy them.
Among the projects that can be seen in the exhibition include the University of Southern Denmark: Campus Kolding, the Blue Planet, the aquarium of Denmark, the University Hospital of Akershus, the House of the Sun, the Nursery that produces its own energy, the Tietgen student residence or the Danish Maritime Museum.
In Spain there are many architects who for more than 70 years have looked towards Denmark to carry out projects.
In Guadalajara, for example, there is a group of houses in the Central de Zorita.
A project with an influence of the Danish architect Jörn Utzon.
Besides, there are many school buildings in Spain based on the plans and photographs of the Munkegards Elementary School, designed by Arne Jacobsen.
