The Municipal Group of Citizens in Cartagena is concerned about how changes in the Department of Sports can affect the creation of the Observatory of Sport and Physical Activity of Cartagena.
"This is a plenary agreement that was reached in April 2017 unanimously and has not yet been executed," recalls the spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín.
"After the resignation of the Councilor for Sports, Obdulia Gómez, another person will have to face the execution of this plenary agreement and we fear that what happened will further delay the creation of the observatory," laments the orange spokesman who recalls that "MC no he did nothing about it when it was his turn, and the socialist party has been delaying its creation for months.It is logical that we fear that the latest changes will further delay the execution of the plenary agreement. The Sports Observatory is an instrument designed to keep the Sports System of the municipality updated, and to have a global vision of the needs, characteristics and evolution of Cartagena's sport.
"It is a tool that will allow us to analyze the sporting reality of Cartagena from a multidisciplinary perspective, coordinate programs related to sports activity and facilitate the exchange of information among other sport observatories in Spain, but we need to have political will for its creation ", says the orange spokesman.
The motion also included the possibility of reaching collaboration agreements with universities and sports entities.
"Cartagena needs to have a Sports Observatory and it would not be fair that the changes in local government continue delaying its creation", laments Manuel Padín.
Citizens shows, once again, their interest and involvement in the defense and promotion of sports at the municipal, regional and national levels.
"Remember that the Regional Assembly approved in March of this year the law presented by Cs to order the exercise of the sport professions and ensure that all professionals have the appropriate qualifications for the exercise of the activity," says Manuel Padin.
"A few days ago, in addition, the parliamentary group of Citizens presented for debate in Congress, a bill for the recognition and visibility of the achievements of Spanish professional athletes, which are many and very meritorious," recalls the orange spokesperson

Citizens Cartagena also wants to express its concern about the situation that the Football Futbol Cartagena is going through, whose future depends on finding a sponsor that contributes the 300,000 euros they need to make a template of guarantees.
"From Cs Cartagena we support the team and therefore we put ourselves at the disposal of the mayor to help find the sponsor to ensure a promising future in First Soccer Cartagena Futsal", says Manuel Padin.
