The Councilor for Municipal Services, Juan Pedro Torralba, has met with the four associations of the Taxi sector, which include the 250 taxi drivers operating in Cartagena, to explain that the new Taxi ordinance will be taken to the next Local Government Board .
Once the ordinance is approved, the activity zones will go from 4 to 1, which means that taxi drivers can work throughout the municipality without having to stick exclusively to their current area of activity, something that, as the mayor recalled, They had been waiting for many years.
"The ordinance has included all the demands that the associations have requested, with the exception of the issue of the drafts, for which they should coordinate among themselves, because it is clear that the local government can not impose something like this on any collective", indicated Torralba.
The mayor explained that "each and every one of the decisions taken and that affect this sector must be agreed with taxi professionals.
In addition, at the meeting all the groups signed a document in which they agreed to resolve the specific need for service that has been raised in La Manga for the summer months.
