The Deputy Speaker of the Socialist Parliamentary Group describes as incomprehensible that López Miras has put in front of an institution so important for the regional economy, such as the Port of Cartagena, a person who has shown his inability to manage public
The Deputy Speaker of the Socialist Parliamentary Group Alfonso Martínez Baños has assured that the management of Joaquín Segado at the head of the Urban Planning Department of the City of Cartagena is causing this institution millions of losses.
He recalled that a few months ago the Supreme Court declared the nullity of the general plan with the consequent damage to the social and economic development of the municipality and the coffers of the Corporation.
"To all this, now adds the sentence of the courts that condemns the City Council to pay more than four million euros to some promoters, as compensation for a negligent and reckless decision that drove Segado when he was a councilman," he explained.
According to Martínez Baños, given these facts, it is not understood that the president of the Autonomous Community has put at the head of an institution so important for the regional economy, such as the Port of Cartagena, to a person who has demonstrated his inability to manage public.
"Lopez Miras must rethink that decision to put at the head of the Port a person who has an accredited solvency in public management and responds to the general interest and non-partisan," he concluded.
