On Sunday, July 1, the posthumous tribute will take place in La Puebla to one of its pioneers, Juan López Gambín (1984-1971).
The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, will preside in the town of Cartagena the nomination of a square dedicated to the memory of one of the three neighbors, who together with José Antonio Saura Conesa and Francisco Hernández Martínez, managed to get La Puebla to start taking off of 1918, constituting today the main population of the deputation of Lentiscar with 1,150 inhabitants.
The work of Juan López Gambín, who managed and got important services and infrastructures for his town, was important for the town to develop and become a hamlet with half a dozen houses with fifteen families settled next to a ravine and a flour mill, in a neuralgic point of traffic of cars, cattle, bicycles and pedestrians, with two ventorrillos and some other service;
to a town with more and more inhabitants and weight in the Campo de Cartagena.
The tribute has been promoted by the neighborhood council and the neighborhood association, completing the acknowledgments to these three characters of their recent history, given that the other two already have dedicated spaces, and is part of the program of festivities of La Puebla.
The nomination was unanimously agreed in plenary on May 16, ratifying the Municipal Honors and Distinction file, instructed by Councilman David Martínez Noguera.
The square that will bear his name is next to the social premises.
During the ceremony, which will take place at 12 noon, you will discover a monolith with a plaque and a bust, donated by the family.
