The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, is going to reactivate the Social Council of the City of Cartagena, which will address fundamental issues for the development of the municipality, such as the arrival of the AVE in Cartagena.
The first mayor has already initiated contacts with some of the entities that will participate in this body to present their proposals for representatives.
Likewise, Castejón plans, once all the organizations have proposed their representatives, to bring to the Governing Board, as established in Articles 4 and 5 of the Organic Regulations of the Social Council, a proposal for the appointment of the different directors and advisors provided in this body.
The Social Council of the City of Cartagena is an advisory body for the Government of Cartagena and an important channel for citizen participation in matters related to economic, social, cultural and environmental development, as well as strategic planning of the city and major projects urban
The Regulation of this body was published in the BORM of August 25, 2006, although it has never been constituted.
In this way, the government team continues to demonstrate its clear commitment to citizen participation and transparency.
