The Plaza de la Iglesia and the Local Social of La Magdalena hosted the awards ceremony of the II Edition of the Contest of Drawing and Children's Murals 'Trinidad García', which this year has been celebrated under the slogan 'Our field'.
This program organized by the Neighborhood Association of La Magdalena has had the participation of the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena and the City of Fuente Alamo.
The mayoress of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, attended the award ceremony;
the mayor of Culture, Education and Youth, David Martínez;
the councilor of the Sustainable Development Area Public Function, Francisco Aznar and the vice rector of Students, University Extension and Sports, Sergio Amat, who presented the prizes and diplomas to the winning students in the different categories and visited the exhibition with the works on the field submitted to the contest.
During the morning of Sunday, June 24, more than 40 awards and distinctions in individual category were given to participants from 6 to 12 years old, and two special prizes were awarded to the schools with the most involvement and dedication in this contest, which relayed on the CEIP San Vicente de Paul, of Cartagena and on the Jose Antonio school, of Fuente Álamo.
On the other hand, distinctions were also awarded among the Special Education students who participated in the call.
In total, about 1400 jobs have been presented in the various categories, carried out by students from 30 primary schools in the two municipalities.
Horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, shepherds, chickens, foxes, eagles, owls, almonds, olive trees, lettuce, farmers, orchards, tractors, palm trees, prickly pear trees, aqueducts, wells, wells, windmills, hamlets, Hermitages, defensive towers have been repeated motifs in many of the drawings presented elaborated with creative and original forms, styles and techniques.
The exhibition with the works presented, which opened on Sunday June 24 at the Local Social of La Magdalena, will be moved to Cartagena in the near future so that the residents of the municipality can visit the exhibition.
