The Finance and Interior Commission, meeting this morning under the presidency of the councilor of the area, Carmen Martín del Amor, has approved the local festivities of the municipality of Cartagena for the year 2019.

These celebrations will be as it is traditional on Friday of Dolores, Big Day of the City in which the patronage of the Virgin of Charity is celebrated, and on Friday of the Carthaginians and Romans celebrations.

These are dates that change every year, since they depend on the calendar of Holy Week and also the Punic-Roman celebrations at the end of September.

Friday of Dolores in 2019 will be on April 12;

while that of Carthaginians and Romans will fall on September 27.

The proposal has been favorably informed by all the municipal groups.

The calendar of holidays is set by nine non-substitutable national holidays determined by the Government;

other three that can be for other holidays in the Autonomous Communities;

and two local festivities that each municipality determines.

In the question and answer section, the president and the members of the committee have been analyzing the various options to implement the motions approved by the Plenary so that the Contracting Committee of the City Council and the ADLE Governing Council have representation of the municipal groups.

The main stumbling block is that the number of political representatives with voice and vote should be one third of the technicians.

The solution that has been raised in the case of the Contracting Committee would be to expand the number of technicians to six, with which there would be three political representatives, who would be the president of the table and two representatives of the opposition groups, who , by means of a set of holders and substitutes, they would alternate.

This solution must still have a favorable legal report.
