Since 2015 the tourism studies in our municipality were discontinued, the UPCT has worked with the support of entrepreneurs and institutions in the implementation of a degree in tourism, which would be the only one to be taught in a Public University of the Region .

This month of June it has been known that the National Agency for the Evaluation of Quality and Accreditation (ANECA) has finally reported favorably the studies of Tourism in the UPCT, in a grade of 4 years.

Councilman Ricardo Segado celebrates this development that "one of the priorities in the MC government action has been to enhance the tourism image of the municipality, among the lines that we could promote despite the PSOE, the recovery of our heritage, the celebration of commemorations historical or the commitment to the potential of the UPCT, for which we have not stopped claiming and promote the introduction of the degree in tourism.

Segado confirms, after contacting UPCT sources, that the pre-registration period is open, the hours and teachers willing and several students have already pre-registered.

And remember that "the UPCT already has a Master in Tourism pioneer and consolidated, with 11 years old, with a high employability and with more than 50% of foreign students enrolled."

"Cartagena is also a tourist destination with a variety of types and growing, so it is essential to combine all these potentialities with a degree in Tourism at the Public University forming a winning tandem, which we bet from MC and must do all , without political games and without keeping anything. "

Finally Segado calls for action to the administrations in this matter and specifically talks about "promoting a professional management of tourism promotion, working in the Tourism Council that José López constituted, that the Community Tourism Board be installed here and that the state and regional infrastructures are planned and executed to reach the region of the field of Cartagena, as a tourist reference in this area of ​​the Mediterranean to which the parties haggle and delay for their ruinous game ".
