The Councilor for Culture, David Martínez Noguera, has traveled to Novelda to attend the first of the conferences of the cycle that has been organized and that explains the historical relationship that connects the municipality with Cartagena.
The conference 'Novelda and Cartagena.
History of two cities', which will take place this afternoon at the Modernist House Museum of Novelda at 8:00 pm, will be offered by the chronicler of Cartagena Francisco José Franco Fernández.
The mayor has taken the opportunity to visit the Modernist House Museum, created by Antonio Navarro;
the Casino and the City Council and deepen collaboration between both administrations.
"Jorge Juan is a well-known figure in Cartagena and together with modernism is one of the links between the municipalities of Novelda and Cartagena.
The series of conferences that begin this afternoon will give even more light to this cultural and tourist link that we must continue exploring, "said David Martínez.
This is the second meeting, since a delegation of members of the Literary Friendly Assembly Jorge Juan de Novelda already visited Cartagena last February.
During that visit they exchanged impressions and talked about the relations that connect Cartagena with the neighboring city of Alicante, around the figure of the sailor and novelist scientist, Jorge Juan, in charge of the modernization of the Cartagena Arsenal and its shipyards.
