The MC Cartagena municipal group will propose, during the celebration of the next plenary session, that the Brotherhood of Romeros of San Ginés de la Jara have a space at the 'Antonio Arévalo' school to facilitate the development of their activities.
The councilor from Cartagena, Isabel García, will argue the initiative after learning that the City will have part of the stays of the educational center.
In this sense, it is worth remembering that the Brotherhood secretariat sent a letter, being García, councilor of Patrimonio, requesting a location in the aforementioned facility to turn it into the epicenter of its programming.
Therefore, MC needs to execute an application already submitted.
Also, it would be an ideal location due to the proximity of the educational center with the Parish of San Ginés its canonical headquarters.
With this, MC aims to facilitate the action of an entity that is distinguished for being safeguarding the customs and traditions of Cartagena.
Therefore, its social and educational significance are more than justified reasons to receive institutional support.
It does so through numerous actions, the most representative of them with the organization of the traditional pilgrimage, which takes place each year around the last week of August, date coinciding with the festivity of San Ginés, its owner and Cartagena Patron .
At present, it develops its activities in a local, of 16 square meters, ceded by the Association of Neighbors of Ensanche Almarjal.
This small unit is used as an office, meeting place and even becomes a sewing workshop for the preparation of typical Cartagena costumes.
