All prepared in La Palma to host, one more year, the National Folklore Festival in the District of Cartagena, which celebrates its XXVI edition.
The event is organized by the City of Cartagena Folk Group of La Palma and with it they make known the customs and traditions of the region, focusing this year on the 'Cafés cantantes'.
They will do it between the 30th of June and the 8th of July.
This edition of the festival has been presented, this Thursday, June 21, the Councilor for Culture, David Martinez, and the president of the City of Cartagena Folk Group of La Palma, Pedro Antonio Gómez.
In the various days of the National Folklore Festival in the region of Cartagena you can enjoy an extensive and varied program of events that will take place at the Agroalimentaria Experimental Station of El Palmeral, of the Casas Grandes of this Cartagena deputation.
As usual, the festival will offer performances by groups from various places in Spain, conferences, exhibitions, workshops, the night of Folk and the Folklore Festival.
This year, the monographic theme in which the festival will put the accent will be the 'Cafés cantantes'.
The mayor of culture wanted, in this presentation, to show the organizers the support of the City of Cartagena for the work of recovering the cultural wealth of the region, maintaining the essence and the roots of it "from the City of Cartagena always We wanted to support this festival with our collaboration, even more if possible, and to support the many people who make it possible because it has a great job behind us throughout the year. "
Martinez has taken the opportunity to invite all the people, who do not know him, to come and see him and share the programmed activities.
The mayor has encouraged "enjoy and surprise us with the richness of it."
Special mention has also been made by Martínez of the poster that illustrates the festival held, as every year, by the Palma-born painter Pérez Casanova.
For his part, the president of the City of Cartagena Folk Group of La Palma, Pedro Antonio Gómez, explained the monographic theme "that this year will be versified on the 'Cafés cantantes' and the importance they have had in folklore, especially in the Southwest Spanish. "
For the monograph, a conference has been scheduled on the protocol of how the Manila shawl should be placed in the Singers 'Cafés and another paper on the Singers' Cafés in La Unión and in Cartagena.
The program will start on June 30 with the official opening and opening of the exhibition of Sculpture 'Bailes' by Cristóbal Hernández Barbero.
It is also worth highlighting the conference 'La mujer y la copla' (The woman and the copla) that Martirio will give and whose sale of the tickets will benefit the 'Asociación Contra el Cáncer de La Palma'.
The night of Folk will feature the performance of the Ea!
Music, coming from Cádiz.
For its part, the Folklore Festival has invited groups from Toledo, Menorca, Murcia, La Palma and Cartagena this year.
