The Exhibition Hall of the Faculty of Business of the UPCT opened its doors yesterday, June 19, to the exhibition 'Refugees', which the ACCEM has organized, with the collaboration of the City of Cartagena, in the framework of activities planned in the municipality to commemorate the World Refugee Day, which is celebrated on June 20.
At the opening ceremony, which was presented by the mayor of Culture, Youth and Education, David Martinez, was also responsible for the area of ​​economic strategy and Finance, Carmen Martín del Amor, along with other members of the municipal corporation, as Pilar Marcos , Antonio Calderón, Fernando Sáenz Elorrieta and Ana Rama.
Several artists of the stature of Ángel Mateo Charris, Fernando Plácido Sáenz of Elorrieta, Alejandro Martínez García, Fulgencio Ros, María José Calin, and students of the second year of the ESO of the IES San Isidoro de Los Dolores, will participate in this exhibition. the works that they have created, putting the accent on the reality of the refugees.
These artists have participated during the month of May in workshops where they have been trained about this reality.
The exhibition can be visited until June 30.
The activities to commemorate the World Day of Refugees continue this Wednesday, June 20, with the reading of a manifesto, which will take place in the Wedding Hall of the Consistorial Palace, at 12:00 noon.
In this act the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón will participate.
In addition, today will be held at the Plaza Heroes de Cavite, the photo auction "Cartagena from the perspective of refugees," in which refugees have portrayed the most significant places in the municipality for them.
On the other hand, throughout the day the facade of the Palace Hall will remain lit in blue, for the World Day of Refugees.
