On June 20 World Refugee Day is celebrated, that is why the City Council of Cartagena and in collaboration with Accem and more than 30 associations have organized a series of activities that will take place from June 18 to 30 in Cartagena
The activities to commemorate this significant date have been presented today, June 18, by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;

Similarly, the mayor of Cartagena has also taken this opportunity to remember that the City of Cartagena offered from the outset to welcome refugees from Aquaris, reacting affirmatively to the call of Federation of municipalities and provinces throughout Spain to help to welcome these people.
Thus, on June 20, the date on which World Refugee Day is commemorated, a series of activities will be carried out, ranging from information tables;
realization of participatory murals to percussion workshops;

In addition, those who meet at the Plaza Heroes del Cavite can see the performance of the musical group "Akwaaba", the activity of "Objects with History" and the realization of a mural in graffiti in charge of "The company of Mario" .
The celebration of this day and the realization of all these activities, as pointed out by the first mayor of the town council of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, "offers the opportunity to say that Cartagena is also a refuge, a committed and solidary municipality that fights for the construction of a tolerant society where coexistence prevails ".
In addition, on this occasion, to commemorate this important date, several artists of the stature of Ángel Mateo Charris, Fernando Plácido Sáenz de Elorrieta, Alejandro Martínez García, Fulgencio Ros, María José Calin, will present the works they have created with the accent on the reality of refugees.

The sample that will collect these works responds to the name of "The Refugee Persons" and is inaugurated next Tuesday, June 19, at 8:00 pm in the Exhibition Hall of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, in the Old CIM of Cartagena .
The exhibition will remain open until June 30.
In addition, on June 20 will take place the photo auction "Cartagena from the perspective of refugees," in which refugees have portrayed the most significant places in the municipality for them.
