The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Municipal Services, Juan Pedro Torralba, attended this morning the General Shareholders' Meeting of the Urban Transportation of Cartagena (Tucarsa), which did not participate the first municipal authority since several legislatures.
At the meeting, representatives of Alsa have reported that among the priorities of the company in Cartagena highlights the expansion of the fleet of electric vehicles and the commitment to the use of new technologies to attract younger users.
"This renovation is important because we have to adapt and offer a modern service that respects the environment," said Ana Belén Castejón.
At the General Shareholders' Meeting it was recalled that the tariff for users of public transport in Cartagena is frozen at the express request of the mayor, who has demanded that it continue in spite of the possible increases that the CPI may experience.
In this meeting we have also analyzed the measures adopted in recent months such as the extension of the frequency of the line that offers service to the Hospital of Santa Lucía or the reinforcement of Line 7, which are giving very good results.
Likewise, the line that was launched in the western zone as a pilot project and that will continue during the summer has been highly valued.
"The experience is showing that this service, which the neighbors had been claiming for a long time, was really necessary.
It will be maintained during the summer months and then an in-depth analysis of it will be carried out, "said Castejón.
Alsa currently has 57 vehicles in the municipality of Cartagena.
