The engineer of Telecommunication by the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), Eva Ortiz, has received the first prize of the Telefónica Talentum scholarship program for her project 'Enhanced Virtual Android', on a new Android architecture for the use of virtual devices in the cloud
Ortiz stressed that through this podryecto: "We can create machine learning applications or even big data without changing technology."
Telefónica's Talentum platform, created to promote young people in the business world and technology, awards annual awards to the best technology-based business projects.
The awards consist of a week of training and networking in Silicon Valley for the seven finalists and a co-working period in Wayra.
The young woman, from Molina de Segura, and graduated from the master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, developed her project at the Telefónica-UPCT Chair, mentored by the professor of the area of ​​Telematics Engineering José María Malgosa and the Network of Chairs, in the area of ​​Architecture and Technology of Computers.
Eva Ortiz has been working in Germany since 2017 at IT-Informatik GmbH, a company that develops ideas related to information and communication technologies.
During her studies at the UPCT, the engineer also significantly improved the performance of the antennas integrated in the labels of the blood bags, allowing her identification to be much faster and more reliable through her master's degree project.
In addition to Ortiz, other students of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena have participated in national events organized by the Network of Telefónica Chairs such as the HackForGood Big Day.
