The New Theater Circus will put the zarzuela La Chulapona on the stage tables on Saturday June 16 at 9:30 p.m., which will be represented by the members of the Association of Friends of Zarzuela under the direction of José Antonio Torres.
This work, original by Federico Romero and Guillermo Fernández-Saw, with music by Federico Moreno, will feature the participation of sopranos Luisa Torres and Ana María Ramos;
and the tenor Gonzalo Fernández, as well as the choir and the titular orchestra of the Lyric Table of the association.
The presentation of the event was carried out by the councilor of the Culture, Education and Youth area, David Martínez Noguera;
who has been accompanied by the president of the Association of Friends of Zarzuela, Rafael Bueno;
and Chema Vázquez, on behalf of the association.
The councilor has pointed out that the zarzuela is a musical scenic genre born in Spain, which differs from the opera in that it has instrumental parts, others sung and others spoken, whose subject is normally popular to approach everyday topics with the public.
He also added that it is a lyrical, scenic and Hispanic art, since after its birth in Spain it soon reached the recognition of the entire Hispanic world.
About La Chulapona, has specified that its plot is far from the traditional molds and has invited to assist the residents of the municipality.
This work, as well as other activities carried out by the Association of Friends of the Zarzuela has the collaboration of the City of Cartagena, since as Rafael Bueno has pointed out, making this genre is very costly at the economic level.
Finally, Chema Vázquez has insisted that La Chulapona is a work that nobody has dared to do in Cartagena, which will be performed only once and will not be recorded, so he has invited the undecided not to miss it.
Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office of the Nuevo Teatro Circo or through the Bancatix website.
