The Logistics Activities Zone of Cartagena is from today a step closer to being a reality.
The plenary session of the Franco Deposit Consortium, in which the mayor Ana Belén Castejón and the mayor of Finance, Carmen Martín, have given the green light to the transfer to the Port, by the City of Cartagena, 19,561.52 square meters in which the deposit is currently located in exchange for the port authority taking over the acquisition of land in Los Camachos north, which will enable the construction of the ZAL to begin.
The mayor has ensured that the new central government will respect all agreements reached so far, which are beneficial for the productive fabric of the municipality.
"The agreements we have reached for the start-up of the Logistics Activities Zone are still valid and I am sure that the new Government of Spain will not only respect them but will be a fundamental ally in the complete development of the ZAL" , Castejón has indicated.
The development of the ZAL will be done in different phases so as to meet the demands of the entrepreneurs of Cartagena.
The transfer of the Franco Warehouse and the Integrated Transport Center to Los Camachos will constitute the first phase and will mean that the works can begin in the coming months.
In fact, Castejón has committed itself that as soon as the application for a license comes to the City Council, the procedures will be streamlined so that the execution of the project begins as soon as possible.
