The councilman of MC, Francisco Calderón, met this morning with members of the Parkinson's Association of the Region of Cartagena (APCC), who have transferred the delicate situation suffered by not having received from the Ministry of Health subsidies for 2017 and 2018, an issue that leaves the association in a "precarious and agonizing state".

Also, the heads of the association have transferred to the mayor of the Cartagena training that, if this situation is not resolved, they will be forced to close their doors next month, leaving Parkinson's patients from the region of Cartagena without essential rehabilitation therapies for your quality of life.

For his part, Calderón has shown his support and has committed to mediate with the Murcian Health Service (SMS) to bring to fruition his just demands.

However, the APCC has denounced that, in addition, it now has to pay maintenance costs at its headquarters in the Casa del Mar in Cartagena, where it treats patients with individual physiotherapy equipment, and ensures that it is not in a position to deal with them. .

Similarly, the APCC requires an explanation by the Autonomous Community, justifying the withdrawal of the nominative grant of 32,000 euros that the association was receiving year after year and that is a third of what they need to perform his work.

Meeting with the SMS manager

The APCC is scheduled to meet tomorrow with the managing director of the Murciano Health Service, Asensio López Santiago, to explain the situation and ask for the relevant explanations.

Previously, Calderón will have transferred to the management of Health Area II the malaise of the association and his intention that the arrears be paid, so that the Parkinson's patients of the Region of Cartagena can continue receiving the same attention as until now.
