The Olympic Pool of the Santa Ana Sports Club will host this Saturday, June 9, the XXV Ciudad de Cartagena Swimming Trophy, organized by the Cartagonova Swimming Club of Cartagena.

The mayor of Deportes, Obdulia Gómez, attended the presentation of this sporting event on Tuesday;

who has been accompanied by the manager of the Sports Club of Santa Ana, Rodrigo Ibáñez;

and the director of the Cartagonova Swimming Club, Francisco Javier Aledo.

The councilor stressed that this competition has been much in demand by the athletes of the autonomous community and thanked the Santa Ana Sports Club for the transfer of its facilities, since there is the only Olympic swimming pool in the municipality for public use.

He also pointed out that the event will start at 10 am and will be developed throughout the day as a great spectacle for swimming lovers, while the participation of the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena in the promotion of swimming in the city.

For his part, Francisco Javier Aledo thanked the sponsors for their expenses in terms of arbitration and trophies, among others, and stressed that the attendance of 600 to 700 people between swimmers and family members is foreseen, since there are more than 350 swimmers confirmed.

Finally, Rodrigo Ibáñez has indicated that for this sporting event the pools and podiums have been renewed, since since 2011 there was no outstanding sporting event, and at the same time he said that this edition is a success for continue to collaborate in the coming years.
