The Occupational Center of Canteras has welcomed this morning the closing ceremony of the program 'Auxiliary operations of rigid finishes and urbanization', a mixed course of employment and training of the Regional Service of Employment and Training (SEF) with the collaboration of the Development Agency Local and Employment (ADLE) and in which 40 people have participated.
The mayoress of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, attended the closing ceremony;
the manager of the ADLE, Manuel Mora and the assistant director of the Regional Employment and Training Service, José Tomás Piñera, who have handed out the diplomas to all the students who have completed their training.
The students, who have acquired knowledge of masonry and plumbing, have completed a total of 1,464 hours of training: 378 hours dedicated to acquire all the necessary theoretical knowledge and 1,086 hours to take the practical part of the mixed course.
During the development of this course, the 40 young people under 30 who belong to the Social Guarantee program of the SEF have carried out the project 'Parque de la Rosa' through which they have completely remodeled this leisure space, applying the knowledge acquired during his training in a real project.
In this regard, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has stated that it is one of the largest and most central parks in the municipality, in which for many years a remodeling was not addressed and "where these boys and girls have made an important work ".
The young people, who started this Level 1 training in September, have finished the practical and theoretical classes this June.
During these nine months the students have received a monthly benefit of 600 euros, approximately.
During the ceremony, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, recognized the important work carried out by these young Cartagena, at the time that reminded them of the importance of continuing to be trained to access and participate in a labor market more and more competitive.
In addition, he pointed out that with mixed courses like this, young people are aware of the importance of continuing to learn and the satisfaction of "seeing how their work and theoretical knowledge have made such an important project with their own hands",
