The most outstanding triathletes met last Sunday, June 3, in Cartagena, in the third edition of the SERTRI, triathlon 'Ciudad de Cartagena', which started at 9 o'clock in the Plaza Heroes de Cavite.
The port city once again became the epicenter of the national triathlon with the celebration of this event, in which more than 500 athletes from all the Spanish communities participated.
The athletic event was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, who gave the start of the event in both the female and male.
Next to her was the Councilor for the area of ​​Economic Strategy and Finance, Carmen Martín del Amor, who was in charge of delivering the medals to the winners of the different modalities.
The race, which is included in the Regional Circuit of the Triathlon Federation of the Region of Murcia, is organized by the Cadena SER, the Triathlon Club Cartagena and the Triathlon Federation of the Region of Murcia and has the collaboration of the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena, the Port Authority and the Race Club.
The SERTRI Triathlon 'Ciudad de Cartagena' has a promotional and initiation nature.
Its main objective is to bring the sport to everyone and everyone can participate, that's why athletes of all ages can do it.
However, it is also a competitive test, since it is part of the Regional Circuit and is scoring for it.
In the men's category, the first to reach the goal was Álvaro Martínez, from the Melilla Swimming Club, which took 1 hour and 33 seconds;
followed by Héctor Pujante, from the CT Arabí Yecla-Catlike, with a mark of 1 hour 1 minute and 3 seconds;
and finally Andrés Méndez, from CT Águilas Primaflor, with 1 hour 1 minute and 19 seconds.
Also, in the women's category, the first to reach the finishing line was Ángela Ojeda, from the EQTR-Rodacal Beyem, which took 1 hour 14 minutes and 16 seconds;
Karin Szabo, from Trinet is never late, whose mark was 1 hour 14 minutes and 58 seconds;
and Miriam Álvarez, from the Guerrita Sewer Triathlon, who did it in 1 hour 16 minutes and 48 seconds.
In the Promo Mujer category, Marina Alcaraz was in first place with a mark of 37 minutes and 13 seconds;
followed by Katia Montilla, who took 38 minutes and 17 seconds;
María Plaza, who managed to complete the test in 40 minutes and 33 seconds.
Jesus Montoya of CT Caravaca and Trinity Wales, of the Tritones Murcia Sport Club, were the fastest cadets to complete the test;
while in the children's category they won the first place Pablo León, from Caravaca and Nieves Navarro, from Tritones Murcia;
and in fry Sandro Alcaraz, of Tritones Murcia and Eva María Sánchez, of CT Cartagena,
